Marketing and Communications Consultant

 

PACKAGE
3 Days a Week – London / Working from Home

 

THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced and talented Marketing and Communications consultant to help us develop and manage our marketing and communications strategy for our existing portfolio of owned sports events as well as work with clients to aid their marketing campaigns. You will join a small, growing team as part of a wider creative agency. With flexible working hours and the ability to be based at home this is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to fit work into an already busy schedule.

Working with the rest of the sports team you will be expected to lead on the marketing strategy across the events and be responsible for content creation and digital marketing management.
The key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Working with Head of Events to create and implement marketing campaigns to increase
    participant sign-ups to owned events (Triathlons and Half Marathons).
  • Managing social media channels for the four owned events.
  • Helping to create content to add to these channels and campaigns.
  • Creating and fostering relationships with local stakeholders (business, groups and schools) on owned half marathons.
  • Assisting with partnership relations and activation.
  • Managing CRM on owned events (monitoring and responding to events email accounts and
    phone lines).

 

THE PERSON
The key skills and qualities required include, but are not limited to:

  • Highly organised and focused individual that is able to prioritise multiple work streams and is confident working on their own and managing their own time.
  • A highly motivated team player who is willing to ‘muck in’ outside of the normal day to day tasks, both as in a team environment and whilst working on their own.
  • A keen interest and passion for sport (particularly running, cycling and triathlon).
  • Digital Marketing experience and excellent copywriting skills with knowledge of Google and social media analytics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign as well as a basic knowledge of website platforms (e.g. Wix and WordPress) would also be beneficial.
  • Use of Mailerlite or other email campaign programs; camera skills (both still and video); editing skills (Premier or iMovie) are not essential for the role but strongly desired.
