Background.
Action Medical Research asked for industry-led cycling events that turn networking into fundraising.
Action Medical Research funds research to prevent disease and disability, and to treat childhood illness and infection. Over several years, they've trusted WMP to organise and manage their European Industry Rides, bringing together professionals from the biotech, insurance, and construction sectors for unforgettable challenges that raise vital funds for life-changing medical research for children.
The Solution.
WMP delivers four fully supported, multi-day cycling tours, each tailored to a specific sector, that unite like-minded professionals for an experience that goes far beyond the ride itself. Taking place in the UK and Europe. these events give riders a challenge with purpose. Each event offers the chance to network, ride, and help fund groundbreaking medical research.
Catalyst is a multi-day European cycling event tailored for professionals in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries. Designed to encourage meaningful connections, it combines scenic and challenging routes with high-quality support throughout. Delivered in partnership with Action Medical Research and Appleyard Lees, Catalyst offers an engaging way to network with peers while supporting a powerful cause.
Raptör is the premier networking ride for the insurance industry, known for its camaraderie, repeat participation and standout route design. The 2025 edition began in North Sussex, travelled via Dover and Dunkirk, and wove through Ypres and Ghent before finishing in Roubaix with a lap of the iconic velodrome, blending historical context with legendary cycling roads for a memorable experience both on and off the bike.
Ziggurat is a four-day cycling tour through the Jura Mountains and lakes surrounding Yverdon-les-Bains, Switzerland. Riders are based at the Grand Hotel & Centre Thermal and take on varied looped routes each day, featuring mountain climbs, vineyard-lined roads, forest descents and lakeside lunch stops, delivering a perfect mix of networking, challenge and unforgettable scenery.
The Garmin Ride Out brings together pro athletes, passionate riders and a festival atmosphere in the heart of the New Forest, all in aid of Action Medical Research. Working with Garmin and Action Medical Research, WMP delivers full-service event production, covering everything from route planning and logistics to branding, creative, content and on-the-day experience, ensuring every touchpoint reflects Garmin's world-class reputation.
At the heart of the Ride Out is a 50-mile route through the New Forest, giving cyclists the rare chance to ride alongside Garmin-sponsored pro riders and ambassadors, backed by a bespoke Garmin Ride Out jersey for every rider, Garmin giveaways and branded event packs, live Q&A sessions with elite athletes, and a festival-style event village with food, music and more.
