Alturix.
ALTURiX partnered with WMP to design and build DreamDry, an iOS and Android app that helps children and their families manage bedwetting, giving parents a simple way to track progress and share it with healthcare professionals.
Background.
Bedwetting affects around 20% of five-year-olds and 10% of seven-year-olds, yet families needed a simple way to record progress and share it with healthcare professionals.
The goal was to provide a simple, engaging way for parents to track their child's progress and share this information with healthcare professionals. We worked closely with ALTURiX, Bladder and Bowel UK, and ERIC, The Children's Bowel & Bladder Charity, to understand the pain points faced by parents and healthcare providers, which helped us design an intuitive user journey focused on ease of use and quick data entry for parents.
The Solution.
Making tracking something children want to do.
Given the target audience of young children, we infused the design with playful imagery and a reward system. Medals are awarded for consistent tracking, encouraging children to participate and make progress alongside their parents, an approach that fosters positive engagement and motivates children to stay on track.
The app lets parents log bedwetting incidents daily, building a picture of patterns and progress over time through simple, intuitive charts that highlight improvements or setbacks. It also makes it easy to export and share this data with healthcare professionals, helping to tailor personalised care plans, and includes a resource section with expert advice, tips and additional support from organisations specialising in bedwetting management.
