Lumie

Vitamin L is another collaboration between the design team at WMP Creative and Lumie.

It is designed to help combat seasonal affective disorder (SAD) through simulating sunlight. The effect is achieved through a series of edge lit LED’s combined with a soft diffuser to provide a powerful warm light output of 10,000 lux at 20cm.

Key design challenges included developing and testing venting details that could provide efficient heat dissipation, whilst also meeting stringent ingress test requirements for medical products.

The light is extremely thin and space efficient so as to not take up too much desk space. A detachable foot offers users two use modes, either portrait or landscape as well as making it nice and compact for taking it away with you!

We worked with Lumie, the pioneers in light therapy, to design their bodyclock product.

Tasked with creating a beautiful product which helps the user to wake up more naturally, the Luxe 700 project presented several challenges. These included how best to configure all of the internal components in a compact yet stable footprint, because bedside table space is often limited.

We also wanted it to have a blown glass globe, to not only enhance the look feel, but also improve acoustics whilst still allowing natural convection to occur.
